What You're Looking At
This page compares cloud measurements across different latitude bands.
Regions:
- Tropics (23.5°S to 23.5°N): Equatorial region with intense solar heating
- Mid-Latitudes North (23.5°N to 66.5°N): Temperate zone including most of North America, Europe, Asia
- Mid-Latitudes South (66.5°S to 23.5°S): Temperate zone including southern South America, southern Africa, Australia
- Arctic (>66.5°N): Far northern polar region
- Antarctic (<66.5°S): Far southern polar region
Key Findings:
- Different regions show distinct cloud patterns and trends
- Polar regions have different seasonal cycles than tropics
- All regions are continuously measured by satellites
