Dataset ranges and limitations:
Temperature: Zachos 2001 + LR04 are long-range benthic proxies (not direct global surface thermometers), and Kaufman + HadCRUT are rebased to 1950 for level alignment only.
CO2 sources: CenoCO2 posterior (deep time), Antarctic + Law Dome (ice/firn), and Mauna Loa (instrumental), with Antarctic-to-Law-Dome handoff shown as a direct archive transition.
Uncertainty: CO2 ribbons are Bayesian credible intervals; LR04 is shown as proxy variability without a formal plotted confidence interval.
More details
Temperature uncertainty display: HadCRUT uses published 95% limits; Kaufman is displayed as an approximate centered 1-sigma band derived from published 5-95 limits.
Archive handoff caveat: Antarctic and Law Dome are plotted as separate archives with no forced splice. Small endpoint offsets or apparent gaps can arise from chronology (ice-age vs gas-age), smoothing, calibration, and site effects.
Comparability caution: Visual continuity across stitched datasets does not imply identical measurement systems, resolution, or transfer functions.
